This policy covers OcularAI’s website, business contacts, portal accounts, and information processed for customer video monitoring. It explains the different roles of OcularAI and the customer operating each camera deployment.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how OcularAI (“OcularAI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit ocularai.com, submit an inquiry, use an OcularAI account or portal, or interact with our AI-assisted video monitoring services. OcularAI provides monitoring technology and related services to business customers. Cameras at a customer location may capture people who never visit our website. This policy explains our role in that setting and how to contact us.
Scope and our role
For website inquiries, marketing, business relationships, and administration of accounts, OcularAI determines how the information is used. For video, images, alerts, event records, and related information supplied by or collected for a customer’s deployment, the customer ordinarily determines where cameras are placed, why surveillance occurs, who receives footage, and how long it is kept. OcularAI processes that information to provide the contracted services and under the customer’s instructions, subject to law and the customer agreement. A customer may have its own privacy notice that also applies to its premises.
Information we collect
We may collect: (1) contact and business information, such as name, company, role, email, phone number, market, and message contents submitted through our forms or communications; (2) account information, including login identifiers, permissions, authentication records, support requests, and activity logs; (3) website and device information, such as IP address, browser, device identifiers, pages viewed, referral information, and cookie or similar technology data; (4) customer deployment information, including camera and device identifiers, site configuration, system status, access logs, service requests, and billing or contract records; and (5) video-related information, such as live or recorded footage, still images, event clips, timestamps, analytics outputs, alerts, operator notes, and incident reports, to the extent enabled by a customer deployment. Camera feeds may incidentally include people, vehicles, license plates, and other visible details. Audio is included only if the customer’s configuration and applicable law permit it.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries and provide demonstrations; create and administer accounts; operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website and services; analyze camera feeds and generate alerts or reports under a customer’s service configuration; support human review and incident response; notify a customer, its designated contacts, security personnel, or public safety authorities when appropriate to the service and circumstances; manage billing and business records; comply with law; and protect our rights, personnel, systems, and customers. Automated analysis can flag activity for review. An alert or classification is not a finding of wrongdoing and may be inaccurate. Human review and escalation depend on the customer’s service scope and operational configuration.
Cookies and website analytics
Our site may use cookies and similar technologies for site operation, security, performance measurement, and understanding visits. The site uses Google Tag Manager to manage website tags. You can use browser controls to limit cookies, although some site features may not function as intended. Where law requires consent or an opt-out for a particular technology, we will provide the applicable choice.
When we disclose information
We may share information with: the customer and its authorized users; service providers that host, secure, maintain, support, or analyze our systems under appropriate restrictions; installation, monitoring, or response partners involved in the contracted service; emergency responders, law enforcement, or other authorities when warranted by an incident, a lawful request, or a legal obligation; professional advisers; and a successor in a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate protections. We may also disclose information to protect safety, investigate misuse, or enforce our agreements. We do not describe a disclosure as a “sale” merely because a service provider processes data for us; whether a specific disclosure is a sale or targeted advertising under a state privacy law depends on the technology actually used.
Video processing and retention
OcularAI describes an on-site processor that analyzes live footage locally, with certain critical data backed up to protected servers. Actual storage locations, event recording, retention periods, and deletion schedules depend on the customer’s configuration, contract, operational needs, and legal preservation duties. We retain website and business records for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above and then delete or de-identify them, unless law or a legitimate records need requires longer retention. We do not state a universal retention period for footage. A customer seeking a specific video retention schedule should consult its service agreement and configuration.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and measures appropriate to the nature of the data. No network, storage system, or transmission is completely secure. Customers are responsible for managing their users, credentials, connected camera systems, and lawful installation and operation of cameras.
Your choices and privacy rights
You may contact us to update your business contact details, unsubscribe from marketing messages, or ask about personal information we handle. Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain information, and to appeal a denial or opt out of certain uses. We will verify requests and respond as applicable law requires. If your request concerns video captured at a customer location, please contact that customer first because it normally controls the deployment and footage; we will assist the customer as required by contract or law. We will not discriminate for exercising a privacy right.
Children and location-specific notices
The website and services are intended for business use and are not directed to children under 13. Cameras deployed by customers may incidentally capture minors. Customers are responsible for appropriate placement, notices, consents, and restrictions under applicable law. Additional notices or choices may be required in some jurisdictions or for particular uses, including audio recording, facial recognition, or other biometric identification. This policy does not itself authorize any such feature.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. We will post an updated version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.
